Session C: Contractors

18 Aug 2026
Omatako Room
Local Content Masterclass Day

Contractors are positioning themselves as key enablers of Namibia's local content ambitions by embedding long term value creation into their project delivery models. In preparation for increased activity, many are investing in workforce localisation strategies that prioritize the recruitment, training, and upskilling of Namibians, while also establishing partnerships with local suppliers to strengthen in country supply chains.

Best practices emerging across the sector include early engagement with communities, transparent and inclusive procurement processes, and collaboration with government and educational institutions to align skills development with industry demand. Contractors are also adopting knowledge transfer frameworks and mentorship programs to ensure that technical expertise is retained locally

This session will explore how contractors are moving beyond compliance to become active contributors to sustainable economic growth, ensuring that project execution directly supports employment, enterprise development, and long-term benefits for Namibia.
