Uaapi Utjavari
Uaapi Utjavari is a seasoned energy executive and geophysicist with over 20 years of experience
in the upstream oil and gas industry across Africa. As the Country Manager of Hanwha Ocean
Namibia, he is responsible for driving the company's strategic growth, business development, and
stakeholder engagement across offshore oil and gas, FPSO, FLNG, marine, power, and
infrastructure sectors.
Throughout his career, Uaapi has held senior leadership positions with AziNam, NAMCOR and
ReconAfrica, where he successfully led exploration portfolios, negotiated strategic partnerships,
managed government relations, and delivered complex energy projects. He holds a Master of
Science in Exploration Geophysics from the University of Leeds and is widely recognized for his
strategic leadership, commercial acumen, and ability to build strong partnerships between
governments, investors, and industry. Passionate about Africa's energy future, Uaapi is committed
to advancing sustainable energy development, local content, and industrial growth across the
continent.
