Secilie Hainana is a Senior Geoscientist in the Upstream Exploration Department at NAMCOR (National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia). She has been working in the oil and gas industry since 2016, with expertise in regional basin analysis, seismic interpretation, sequence stratigraphy, petroleum licensing, hydrocarbon prospect evaluation, and exploration data management. 

She holds a Master of Science in Petroleum Geoscience from Heriot-Watt University, a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Geology from Rhodes University, and a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Computer Science from the University of Namibia. 

Prior to joining NAMCOR, Secilie served as a Senior Petroleum Geoscientist in the Directorate of Petroleum Affairs at the Ministry of Mines and Energy. In this role, she evaluated petroleum exploration licence applications, advised the Government Negotiation Team (GNT) on petroleum agreements, supported petroleum policy development, and promoted Namibia's upstream petroleum sector at international industry events. 

At NAMCOR, she leads and supports regional geological and geophysical studies, seismic interpretation, and sequence stratigraphic research. She is also actively involved in exploration data management, data room operations, and the promotion of Namibia's upstream exploration opportunities. 

Before transitioning into the petroleum sector, Secilie gained four years of experience in geological mapping and mineral exploration, working as a Geologist at the Geological Survey of Namibia and at Rosh Pinah Zinc Mine.
