Ryan Theodore Benade is a Namibian geospatial and environmental management specialist with academic and professional experience in GIS, remote sensing and environmental studies. He serves as a lecturer at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), where he is also pursuing a Master of Spatial Science, alongside a Master’s degree in Integrated Environmental Management and Sustainable Development at the International University of Management (IUM). Ryan holds a Bachelor of Geo-Information Technology and an Honours degree in Geo-Information Technology (cum laude) from NUST, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Studies from IUM. His research interests focus on the application of GIS, remote sensing and environmental data to support responsible resource development, environmental monitoring, spatial planning and sustainable energy decision-making in Namibia’s evolving energy sector.
