Nillian Mulemi

Chief Executive Officer, Petrofund

Nillian has been managing Namibia’s upstream oil and gas capacity building programme for the petroleum industry for over 20 years.

She joined the Petroleum Training and Education Fund in 2002, a period that has witnessed the Trust Fund train over 400 Namibians in various fields of interest toNamibia’s upstream petroleum industry, spearhead collaborations that have enabled national institutions of higher education to align programs with the sector and participated in sustaining awareness of the industry to the Namibian youth and general public at various platforms.

Under Nillian’s agile leadership, the PETROFUND has been instrumental in spearheading Namibia’s Upstream Local Content vision of maximising the benefits of petroleum resources through strategic multifaceted interventions that promote just-in-time capacity building through local workforce training & employment, training institutions collaboration, onboarding local suppliers, use of local goods and servicesthroughout the entire value chain, sustained by industry-responsive financing solutions.

Nillian holds a master’s and undergraduate double degrees in Finance and Lawobtained at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland (MSc. Finance), University of Namibia (B.Juris) and Namibian University of Science and Technology, then Polytechnic of Namibia (Cost Accounting).  

In 2018, she attended a Leadership Program offered by Harvard University in the United States of America.

Nillian also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Government Institutions Pension Fund (GIPF) as well as a Commissioner on the Public Office Bearers Commission.

Nillian is the President of the AAPG Africa Region for the Period 2024 to 2026.
