Lavinia Mbongo is a scientist, strategic leader, and passionate advocate for equitable access to STEM education whose work is transforming institutions, communities, and the future of scientific learning. With extensive experience in research and regulatory environments, she has built a reputation for driving institutional excellence through strategic leadership, performance monitoring, project management, governance, and regulatory compliance.

Her career exemplifies the powerful intersection of scientific expertise and leadership, demonstrating how scientists can influence policy, strengthen institutions, and shape organizational strategy to deliver meaningful and sustainable impact.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Lavinia is deeply committed to empowering the next generation of leaders. She is the Founder of the Find Me A Mentor Initiative, a transformative program dedicated to connecting young people from underserved rural communities with mentors in STEM fields. Through mentorship, leadership development, and career guidance, she helps young girls and boys unlock their potential, build confidence, and envision futures beyond the limitations of their circumstances.

Lavinia is currently completing her PhD in Chemistry at Loughborough University, United Kingdom, her doctoral research focuses on developing innovative virtual laboratory solutions that expand access to practical STEM education in regions where laboratory infrastructure is limited or unavailable.
