Antony Chatu
Antony holds an MSc degree in Oil and Gas Enterprise Management from the University of Aberdeen and an MSc degree in Petroleum Geoscience from Royal Holloway, University of London, United Kingdom. He also holds a BSc (Honours) degree in Geophysics from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa and a BSc degree in Physics and Chemistry from the University of Namibia. In addition, Antony holds a Senior Management Development Programme certificate from the Stellenbosch Business School-Stellenbosch University.
Before joining NAMCOR, Antony taught in Physics and Applied Geophysics at the University of Namibia for 11 years. Antony currently serves as the Chief Geoscientist-Upstream Exploration at NAMCOR, where he has worked for over 13 years. In this role, he is responsible for the Technical Evaluation and Divestment of NAMCOR Operated Assets, including farm-in/farm-out negotiations, Work Programmes and Budget, technical committee meetings with partner exploration companies. He has also been co-opted from time to time to serve in the Government Negotiation Team on awarding Petroleum Licenses in Namibia. Antony also conceived several projects that have been implemented in the exploration and production departments at NAMCOR.
