Dr. Abubakar Abbas is a Senior Energy Forecast Analyst in the Energy Economics and Forecasting Department of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF). He leads the development and integration of long-term energy and natural gas market outlooks, oversees the consistency of the GECF Global Gas Outlook, and ensures the integrity of the GECF Global Gas Model used to assess future energy demand, supply, trade, investment, and emissions pathways. His work focuses on energy security, energy transitions, gas market development, and investment requirements. Dr. Abbas holds a PhD in Gas Engineering, is a Chartered Engineer (UK), and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
