Fatou Diop
A legal specialist in energy law, legal advisory, and international arbitration, Fatou Diop stands out as a prominent figure in local content within Senegal's oil sector. She earned a master's degree in business law from the University of Évry Paris-Saclay in 2013 and later obtained a diploma in Energy Law, Investment, and International Arbitration from the University of Paris Nanterre in 2018, building a robust and recognized expertise.
Fatou joined MODEC in 2021, as Legal and Compliance Manager and was quickly promoted to Legal, Contract, and Local Content Manager. In this role, she oversees all legal, contractual, and compliance matters for MODEC in the flagship of SANGOMAR project, Senegal's first oil venture, where she plays a pivotal role in implementing and executing local content strategies.
Deeply committed to advancing local integration, Fatou stands out for her close collaboration with Senegalese authorities to embed local content at the core of MODEC's industrial practices. She actively contributed to the improvement and implementation of appropriate legal mechanisms for successful local content in the hydrocarbon industry. She has significantly participated in enhancing access for local companies and Senegalese professionals within the oil sector and fostering an environment conducive to inclusive and sustainable development.
