Windhoek, Namibia – 03 August 2026 – The Namibia Oil and Gas Conference (NOGC) has renewed its partnership with the Namibia Youth Energy Forum (NYEF) ahead of the 4th edition of the conference, continuing a collaboration focused on preparing Namibia’s next generation of energy professionals through the Future Generations Session and Local Content Masterclasses. These initiatives focus on education, technical training, mentorship and increased youth participation in conversations shaping the country’s energy future, while equipping students, graduates and young professionals with the knowledge, skills and industry exposure needed to participate meaningfully in Namibia’s emerging oil and gas sector.

The 4th Namibia Oil and Gas Conference will be held from 18–20 August 2026 in Windhoek under the theme “From Decision to Dividend: Making Namibia’s Oil Work for Namibians.” Building on the successful collaboration established during the 2025 edition of the conference, the renewed partnership with NYEF will continue to create platforms for young professionals, students and aspiring energy leaders to engage with industry leaders, educators, policymakers and technical experts while exploring opportunities emerging within Namibia’s growing energy sector.

As part of the conference’s Local Content Masterclasses, the Future Generations Session will focus on empowering Namibia’s youth to play an active role in shaping the country’s emerging energy future. Bringing together young professionals, students, industry leaders, educators and policymakers, the session will explore opportunities for skills development, innovation, entrepreneurship and career pathways within the oil and gas sector and related industries. Through inspiring dialogue and knowledge-sharing, the session aims to encourage greater youth participation, foster future-ready talent and ensure that the growth of Namibia’s energy industry creates lasting opportunities and benefits for generations to come.

The session will focus on equipping Namibia’s youth with the knowledge, skills and opportunities needed to thrive in the country’s growing oil and gas industry. Industry leaders, young professionals, academic institutions and training providers will discuss the future of work in the energy sector, emerging career pathways and the importance of STEM education, technical training and mentorship.

The Future Generations Session is part of NOGC’s Local Content Masterclasses, which place a strong emphasis on education, technical training and mentorship to prepare young Namibians for careers across the oil and gas value chain. The programme will explore emerging career pathways, entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership development and the future skills required to support Namibia’s growing energy industry.

As Namibia moves closer to developing its oil and gas resources, investing in local talent has become increasingly important. The Future Generations Session aims to ensure that young Namibians are equipped to contribute to and benefit from the country’s energy future by strengthening local capacity and fostering a pipeline of future industry leaders.

Speaking on the renewed partnership, Cons Karamata, Chief Executive Officer of the Economic Association of Namibia (EAN), emphasised the importance of developing local capacity and creating opportunities for the next generation of energy professionals "As Namibia continues to advance its oil and gas industry, developing local talent must remain a key priority. The Future Generations Session and the Local Content Masterclasses are designed to bridge the gap between education and industry by connecting young Namibians with the knowledge, training and mentorship needed to succeed in the energy sector. Through these initiatives, we aim to support the growth of future professionals, entrepreneurs and leaders who will help shape Namibia’s energy future and ensure that the benefits of the sector extend to generations to come," he noted.

Additionally, Andreas Paulus, Director at the Namibia Youth Energy Forum (NYEF), said the partnership with the Namibia Oil and Gas Conference strengthens NYEF’s efforts to create platforms that connect young people with opportunities within Namibia’s energy sector "The continued partnership with the Namibia Oil and Gas Conference enables the Namibia Youth Energy Forum to create and expand opportunities for young Namibians to engage with the conversations, developments and opportunities shaping the country’s energy landscape. Through this collaboration, NYEF is able to bring youth perspectives into industry discussions while creating platforms that encourage dialogue between young people, industry stakeholders and decision-makers. We believe that meaningful youth participation is essential in ensuring that Namibia’s energy future is shaped inclusively and that young Namibians are positioned to contribute to the sector’s growth," he stated.

Hosted by the Economic Association of Namibia (EAN) in partnership with the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) and the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF), with strategic partnerships from the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR), Rhino Resources and SNC Incorporated, the conference continues to provide a platform for dialogue, investment promotion, knowledge sharing and collaboration within Namibia’s energy sector.

The renewed partnership with the Namibia Youth Energy Forum further strengthens NOGC’s efforts to support meaningful youth participation and ensure that young Namibians are prepared to contribute to the country’s emerging oil and gas industry.
