Namibia Oil and Gas Conference Delegation and NAMCOR Strengthen Strategic Partnership
Windhoek, Namibia – 28 July 2026 – The Namibia Oil and Gas Conference Organising Team paid a courtesy visit to the Managing Director of the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR), Victoria Sibeya, one of the conference's strategic partners. The meeting sought to strengthen the existing partnership and discuss ongoing preparations for the successful hosting of the fourth edition of the conference, scheduled to take place from 18–20 August 2026.
The delegation was led by Jason Kasuto, Chairperson of the Economic Association of Namibia (EAN), and included Julia Muetudhana, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB); Shakwa Nyambe, Managing Partner of SNC Incorporated; Cons Karamata, Chief Executive Officer of the Economic Association of Namibia; and Ndapewa Hangula, Executive: Investments at the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB).
As Namibia's national oil company, NAMCOR plays a pivotal role in the country's petroleum industry by managing the State's interests in upstream petroleum exploration and production, promoting investment in the sector, and supporting the sustainable development of Namibia's oil and gas resources. As a strategic partner of the Namibia Oil and Gas Conference, NAMCOR's participation contributes valuable industry expertise and insight to discussions shaping the future of the sector.
During the engagement, the organising team provided an in-depth overview of the conference programme and the key discussions that will take place under this year's theme, "From Decision to Dividend: Making Namibia's Oil Work for Namibians." The delegation also emphasised NAMCOR's important role in advancing dialogue and collaboration across the country's emerging oil and gas industry.
The delegation further shared updates on the planning process and the progress made to date, outlining the collaborative efforts being undertaken to ensure that the fourth edition of the conference delivers meaningful discussions, strengthens industry partnerships, and creates value for Namibia's oil and gas sector.Victoria Sibeya, Managing Director of NAMCOR, expressed her appreciation for the courtesy visit and welcomed the continued collaboration with the Namibia Oil and Gas Conference Organising Team “On behalf of NAMCOR, we are pleased to welcome the Namibia Oil and Gas Conference Organising Team and to express our support for this important industry platform. The fourth edition of the conference comes at a significant time for Namibia as the country continues to move closer to realising the full potential of its oil and gas sector.
We are excited about the opportunities, partnerships, and conversations that this conference will facilitate, particularly around investment, local participation, skills development, and ensuring that Namibia’s petroleum resources create lasting value for Namibians,” she stated.
Sibeya further emphasised the importance of collaboration through strategic partnerships stating, “Partnerships such as these are essential as Namibia’s oil and gas industry continues to evolve. No single institution can build this sector alone. It requires collaboration between government, national institutions, investors, operators, service providers, and Namibian businesses to create a sustainable and inclusive industry,” she added.
Additionally, Jason Kasuto, Chairperson of the Economic Association of Namibia, highlighted the significance of the engagement with NAMCOR and the importance of building strong relationships among stakeholders to ensure that Namibia’s oil and gas sector delivers shared benefits “This engagement with NAMCOR is important because the shared benefits from the oil and gas industry will not happen automatically. They require deliberate efforts, collaboration, and strong relationships among all stakeholders. We have seen in other nations where resource booms have resulted in wealth being concentrated around a particular segment. Therefore, it is important that stakeholders work together and each play their role in ensuring that Namibia’s resources create opportunities for the broader economy. Engagements such as this one with NAMCOR are critical in strengthening collaboration, aligning stakeholder efforts, and creating a shared understanding of how Namibia can maximise the benefits of its oil and gas resources,”he stated.
The Namibia Oil and Gas Conference continues to position itself as the country's leading platform for dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge sharing within the energy sector. By bringing together government, industry leaders, investors, development partners, and otherkey stakeholders, the conference seeks to promote informed discussions that support the responsible development of Namibia's oil and gas industry and maximise benefits for all Namibians.
